Impact ’08

          For our IMPACT ‘08 project in humanities, my group was assigned the political platform, the war in Iraq. One of the things we had to do, was create a trifold board presenting an unbiased view of what both McCain’s and Obama’s plans were/are about the war in Iraq.

          On Friday, October 17, 2008, my humanities teacher Mrs. C, had our class walk to Von’s, carrying our trifold boards. Once we arrived, Mrs. C had our groups split up into presenters and surveyors. She then placed the informers by the Von’s entrance and the surveyors scattered around the shopping center. The surveyors went up to people and asked who they would vote for president. I was an informer. Our job was to present the info on the trifold boards in an unbiased way to hopefully educate the public. While we were talking to some of the shoppers I noticed how there were a lot of McCain supporters and only a couple of Obama supporters. I also noticed how some of the people don’t care who the next president is or don’t even know who’s running for president and then there are some who already know who they’re voting for and what the presidents think about the issues.

          Besides making the trifold board, we also constructed a political cartoon and public servise announcement;
